Cross-Institutional Collaboration: UIN Jakarta and UIN Sunan Kalijaga Hold International Class Management

Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah, UIN Online News — The Faculty of Dirasat Islamiyah (FDI) of UIN Jakarta offers an international curriculum emphasizing proficiency in Arabic language acquisition.

Therefore, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta was invited for a benchmarking study program visit to FDI on Tuesday (August 12, 2025). The tour sought to understand the governance of the FDI international class and was attended by participants, leaders, and representatives from UIN Sunan Kalijaga.

The visit was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Imam Sujoko, M.A.; the Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. Mu'min Roup, M.A.; the Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. Fatihunnada, M.A.; the Head of the Islamic Studies Program, Dr. Aida Humaira; the Team Leader, Ahmadi, M.Si; and the Representative of the Academic Section, Waskito Wibowo, M.A.

In his address, Dr. Imam Sujoko M.A. articulated that this program is a product of collaboration between the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenag RI) and Al-Azhar University in Egypt.

Originally, the FDI curriculum and courses were derived from Al-Azhar University, with modifications in accordance with the policies of the UIN Jakarta campus. As a result, it stands out as the only academic program at State Islamic Religious Higher Education (PTKIN) that uses Arabic as its medium of instruction for lectures.

This program is specially endorsed by UIN Sunan Kalijaga under the supervision of the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law and his team.

Dr. Ocktoberrinsyah, M.Ag., indicated that the purpose of the visit is to examine UIN Jakarta's administration of the execution of its academic programs and to address numerous management issues.

"Despite the commencement of the international class this year, there have been no freshmen thus far. Consequently, we are seeking the optimal strategy to engage the interest of potential students," he conveyed.

At the conclusion of the tour, FDI UIN Jakarta noted that the sustainability and success of the international class program are contingent not only upon its management but also on the availability of human resources: students, lecturers, and other educational personnel.
